Happy New Year, and a new year deserves a chocolatey close to the last year, right? Except that we’re already almost done with February, whoops. Time just gets away from me, especially around the holidays. But I figure there’s never a bad time for a round-up of truffles recipes! Every holiday season I always have to have a mix of old classics and try out some new ones in the hopes of finding some new faves. This is part two of the Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant review, focusing on the winery! Read part one here. There was just too much to throw into one post so I wanted to separate out the two to do them each justice. When you first walk into the Ashburn, VA location, you walk into the winery. There’s some cute novelty wine items in the front, including some entertaining wine pourers featuring a variety of animals, and also some zombies. All of the stoppers pour from the subjects mouths are are quite festive. They use their pourers at the bar,…

This jazz festival event is apparently annual at Lake Anne out in Reston, VA, though this is the first time I’ve gone. We went as part of our awesome labor day weekend, the same one that brought you posts on Reese’s peanut butter bars, and MD Renaissance Festival. It was a crazy weekend packed full of everything: breweries, a wine tasting, the jazz festival, an escape room, dinner at a hot pot restaurant, the renaissance fair, and a ton of board games! The reason we even went out to Lake Anne was because I had heard of a chocolate and wine…
