The weather’s getting warmer, and we’re getting closer to the time when we break out the mixed cocktails, the wine tastings out in the summery vineyards…  It makes me a little sad that I don’t enjoy winter as much as I used to.  When I was little, winter meant staying inside by the fire, or staying home from school, or playing in the snow.  Now it means brushing off the car, going into work in the cold, and dealing with the extra icy stupidity that overtakes the NoVA area.  And even though it’s not actually that warm out yet, I decided to pretend it was.  This strawberry shortcake vodka slush is pretty much everything you’d want in a summery cocktail!  Only three ingredients needed:

  • Cake Vodka (there is also a limited edition Strawberry Shortcake Vodka by Pinnacle as well)
  • Strawberries
  • Ice

We also had some girl scout cookies lying around, and those trefoils, or any shortbread cookies are an amazing complement to this drink!  Or cake.

This is another recipe that I’m not really giving you a recipe for!  Adjust to taste.  Generally I go with about 1/2 lb. of strawberries, halved, 1-2 c. of ice, and 1-2 shots of vodka.  Be careful with the vodka though because in this drink, you can’t really taste the liquor.  Just blend it all up, and enjoy!  This recipe is for about 2 glasses of slush!

[…] Try this recipe out and let me know what you think!  I’ve always wanted to make someone try this without telling them what’s in it, but I don’t really want to do that with something quite this alcoholic!  I would totally do it with strawberry shortcake vodka slush though! […]
