A roasty, toasty blue cheese pecan chicken. Packed full of rosemary butter sauce, topped with a heaping mound of pecans and finished with a sharp and tangy blue cheese sauce.

I have finally, finally gotten around to part two of the Kiwimoon, our honeymoon adventures in the South Island! So much fun from wineries, horseback riding, beautiful scenery, and a night out with amazing cocktails! – – Day 10: Tiny house and The Winery. While in Queenstown for this stint, we stayed in a tiny house! While I definitely could not live in a tiny house long term, I love short getaways in tiny houses that seem so cozy and still have all the essentials. This one had a gorgeous view of the bay, a cozy loft bed, and a pretty…

Hey guys, we’re back from New Zealand and I just want to share with you every minute of our honeymoon adventure! I want to make sure I jot this down while the memories are still fresh because it was such an amazing trip. We were there for two and a half weeks, so I’m breaking this into two parts, the north island and the south island! Here’s the north island scoop: Day 1: Travel. After the wedding we were exhausted, but at least we played that “honeymoon” card, and got bumped up to Economy plus on the first leg of our…

Sister to one of our favorite wineries Mediterranean Cellars, Molon Lave has a much larger and commercial feel, with the perks of a small lake, rolling grounds and event space. The wines are different but still fall in the range of Greek-style offerings. – – Here’s part two of our getaway weekend (read part 1 here)! I shared the first post this past weekend because we had such a good time I couldn’t keep it in! And so many people have asked us details on the place I thought it a good idea to elaborate and share the link! Head…

Delicious caramel apple cider sangria, festive for fall, but delicious all year round! – – Who doesn’t love apples? Who doesn’t love wine? Who doesn’t love putting the two together? If the answer is you, I’m not entirely sure why you’re reading this, but who am I to judge? First things first, chop some apples! I really liked having the mix of red and green apples for some extra color, so for this recipe I used red delicious and granny smith. If I had to pick one though, I’d go with the granny smith. I like the little bit sour…

A healthy risotto chock full of broccoli and cauliflower with all of the flavor and none of the guilt! Throw in some cheddar cheese for a broccoli and cheddar taste, or a truffle cheese to add some fancy to your dish! – – I have been super excited to try out this dish! I love risotto, but I don’t love the guilt of all the butter and cheese, even if it’s delicious! One of the keys of getting that full punch of flavor is to use a nice cheese. A nicely aged cheddar means that you can use far less…

Potomac Point Winery is down south of NoVA, rather than west like a lot of other wineries we frequent. We were actually looking at it as a possible wedding venue, though jury’s out if it’ll make the cut! It’s a gorgeous property, and not too bad to find. We’ll kick off the review with brunch: the food was delicious! Tyler and I were both starving after our wedding venue tour, so that probably added a few points in their favor. But the food we had was delicious! I went with a grilled chicken, pesto, and sweet pepper flatbread. It was…

Orchid Cellars is actually a meadery and winery! In the interest of not having a bajillion categories, I file this under winery with Ciderworks, even though they’re a little less traditionally “winery”. They’re both perfect stops to make on the Antietam wine trail to add a little something different to your outing! This little baby here (actually not so little anymore) is actually one of the first reasons we ventured up to the Antietam Wine Trail at all. A friend grew up in the area and frequented Orchid Cellars with his mom, and he used to bring back all varying…

A few weekends ago, T and I made a long (45+min) trip out to Leesburg. I wanted to get my 2017 planner (yes, I realize I’m still about 3 months early, but I already have things I need to write down for next year) and I can order it online, but I can save a few bucks by picking it up in store, plus it comes with instant gratification. It’s an Emily Ley simplified planner and super expensive planner in the grand scheme of things, but as I use it almost every day and it makes me significantly less stressed in…

I don’t know if anyone’s noticed, but around here in Virginia, we’ve finally entered real fall weather! I personally wish there was a little bit more of a transition since I’m prone to being cold, but T just loves the sweater weather that’s going on. This past weekend was a long weekend for both T and me (Columbus Day), and we packed it full of stuff as we’re ought to do. We hit up the Renaissance Fair again with some friends who had never been (check out my original review), and also hit up a few wineries with my parents who came to visit!…

This is part two of the Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant review, focusing on the winery! Read part one here. There was just too much to throw into one post so I wanted to separate out the two to do them each justice. When you first walk into the Ashburn, VA location, you walk into the winery. There’s some cute novelty wine items in the front, including some entertaining wine pourers featuring a variety of animals, and also some zombies. All of the stoppers pour from the subjects mouths are are quite festive. They use their pourers at the bar,…
