Gotta love date night! Or in the case of this weekend, date day! Tyler has planned some really thoughtful dates recently, like our getaway tiny house cabin weekend, and I’ve been doing weight watchers so I was trying to think of something less food-centric, so we went to see a show at the Kennedy Center: How to Succeed in Business Without Even Trying. It was entertaining, an all-too-relatable musical about climbing the corporate ladder. Still it left me wanting much more in the way of strong or even useful female characters and the lack of consequence in the whole thing…

Potomac Point Winery is down south of NoVA, rather than west like a lot of other wineries we frequent. We were actually looking at it as a possible wedding venue, though jury’s out if it’ll make the cut! It’s a gorgeous property, and not too bad to find. We’ll kick off the review with brunch: the food was delicious! Tyler and I were both starving after our wedding venue tour, so that probably added a few points in their favor. But the food we had was delicious! I went with a grilled chicken, pesto, and sweet pepper flatbread. It was…

After a boozy brunch for New Year’s Eve, what do you need? That’s right–a boozy brunch for New Year’s Day! Obviously. Since both Tyler and I had some friends visiting for our New Year’s Eve party, we wanted to take them to a full out brunch and try a new place! Penn Commons brunch was a brunch to rival Fuego’s! You can read the review for that, but Fuego’s has since closed and it won’t do you much good. Penn Commons might even surpass it in food. Let’s start off with location–Penn Commons is located in Chinatown, just a few…

So let me tell you about this past weekend! I know we’re almost at this weekend, but I’m about to travel up to my parents for the weekend, and last weekend was a ton of fun! T’s parents came to visit, which is always a good time. We really packed this weekend full of fun stuff, so I think I’ll be writing about this one particular weekend for a while! We started off Friday with a trip to Artie’s, a restaurant that has been here for over 20 years, actually since his parents used to live in the area. They were…

So this is my first review post, and you might be wondering why I’m taking my food blog down this route. The short answer is that I love some of the restaurants in the VA/DC area, and I simply wanted to record some of those places for my own personal easy reference when a friend comes in town or if I feel like T and I have been stuck in a rut restaurant-wise. If I continue to do this in the future, I will definitely need to take more photos though! The longer answer is that I was somewhat inspired…
