grilled cinnamon pineapple;
This grilled cinnamon pineapple is the perfect summer grilin’ recipe! Funny enough, it’s not summer as I write this, and there’s still a fair bit of snow of the ground. But with warm, toasty flavors, and just a slight bit of char on tangy sweet pineapple, it reminds me of summertime. Close enough, right?
Grilled cinnamon pineapple is a great addition to any summertime BBQ menu. A healthful dessert that’s easy to prep and grill. A sweet ending to a lovely hot summer day, and so, so easy to make. This recipe is so simple it barely warrants a recipe. Only four ingredients to make this sweet pineapple shine.
All you need is a pineapple, some brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon. Sometimes when my pineapple is a little overripe, I’ll skip the brown sugar entirely. Let the pineapple do the talking! We have a gas grill, and while grilling is super convenient and easy, you can elevate your grilled cinnamon pineapple with a choarcoal grill. It gets extra toasty and the charred lines really add some extra smoky flavor.

Ingredients
- 1 pineapple (fresh)
- 2 Tbsp butter melted
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon (plus more for dusting)
Instructions
- Cut the pineapple by removing the spiky top and slicing off the outer layer of skin. Cut the pineapple into spears, avoiding the center, or alternatively, core the pineapple and slice into rings. Lay them out on a baking sheet as you go.
- Melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar and ½ tsp cinnamon and whisk until combined. Using a pastry brush, brush the pineapple spears with the glaze mixture. If any glaze is left, set aside.
- Dust all sides slightly with additional cinnamon sugar if desired.
- Add the glazed pineapples to a hot grill, laying them across the hot bars to get grill marks. Once charred on one side, flip over, roughly 3-5 minutes per side depending on the heat of your grill. Serve warm.
