This was the third and final recipe from blue apron! And definitely a keeper. I want to make this for my mom–a little less on the spice for her though! She loooooves chicken wings, and I’ve always been hesitant to try making them. Somehow I always assume they’re hard to make, but this recipe was surprisingly easy! I have one other recipe from a friend who made some really great wings for a party, and I loved them. It was a great recipe, but it was a fried chicken wings recipe, so it involved a lot of spices and flour and oil.…

It was a bit of a late dinner today. Crazy day for me. T was headed off all the way through DC to the other end of the Orange line today, so he had to get up early and was out the door before I even got up. He told me early, so it should have been no big deal, I just had to take a few extra minutes to walk Kenichi. Lo and behold, of course, that when I came back in from our normal morning walk, Kenichi decided to run for freedom. I chased him probably a quarter…

So today was game day! D&D Sunday as they usually happen to be, and instead of going all out to make all of the food, we did a potluck! It was wonderful–worked out perfectly. Zack made jalapeno poppers, Matt made quiche, and Dustin brought brownies! Tyler got away with nothing because he’s dating me, and I provided this awesome mediterranean dip! Plus he’s the DM so he has more work to do than the rest of us when it comes to preparing for D&D. This mediterranean dip recipe stems from Dara’s Healthy Mediterranean 7 Layer Dip over at Cookin’ Canuck, with a…

I made this for a quick dinner today, and it was tasty and looked just like the pictures over at damndelicious! I made them for dinner with some fried rice to whip in some veggies, but these would also be perfect as an appetizer! Make the meatballs a little bit smaller for an appetizer, but would be a good small party recipe. If you had more than around 6 people I’d double the recipe (but in either case would still serve another app or two)! Honestly, I don’t even have much to say about this recipe because it’s so straightforward.…

These Mediterranean pinwheels are a perfect, EASY appetizer. This is one of our go-to’s because T likes them, and I like them, and he’s less likely to eat half the cheese and salami before they go in the oven. Though maybe more likely to eat half of them coming out of the oven. Plus there’s the added benefit of a short grocery list. There are only 6 ingredients (I’d really say 5…if you don’t have olive oil, you’re doing the kitchen wrong), and all the steps are simple. It’s even better to get some help, especially if you’re making these…

This recipe is exactly what it sounds like! Pizza dip (though I will say, a little bit more of a white pizza), surrounded by soft and chewy garlic knots! Definitely turn up the garlic on those garlic knots too. Sometimes if I’m feeling extra-garlicky I will add a few pinches of garlic powder and a few pinches of onion powder to the butter mix. My only concern about this recipe is that it’s not quite enough to share with a large party of people. I wanted to make it for a hangout we’re doing this weekend with around 20 people, but with only…

This breakfast crescent ring is yumm-ee! It does take a little bit of effort rather early in the morning I’ll admit, with all the different pieces that go together. But it was tasty, that’s for sure! Actually it was tastier than I even expected, but I’m glad it was since it took a little more effort than expected at first glance. The one thing to do next time to make it look even better would be to make the ring a little smaller so that there isn’t quite as large of a hole in the middle. I think that would make…

I have a little story for you all. A young girl graduated college and moved in with one of her friends. Moved to a new state, and in the evenings when they didn’t feel like cooking some nights….they would eat baked potato rounds! Really it’s just a means to get cheese and bacon to our mouths. We were having a snowed-in game night last night with some friends that live within walking distance of our place (to trudge through the snow), and I whipped out this ol’ recipe to relive the past. And it’s always amazing. Though because of the snow, I…

Here’s a great party recipe! The best part is that the veggies can be swapped out with whatever you have lying in the fridge. I ended up using celery and carrots, though I’m sure you could add in peppers, jalapenos, broccoli, spinach…anything you want! And the other ingredients take a number at 4. Amazing isn’t it? You of course can chop all of these vegetables by hand, but I highly recommend and food processor or chopper. I love this 1.5 c food chopper and it makes short work of vegetables! It’s cheap, safe, and reliable, and easy to clean and pack up. Especially…

So you might have noticed something: I like using egg roll and wonton wrappers for things other than Asian foods. My mom did teach me how to make wontons growing up so you’ll have to look out for when I actually post that recipe! But in the meantime … the recent crazy weeks I’ve had have forced me to get creative as I attempt to use up as many of the random ingredients I have lying around in my fridge. So, voila, philly cheesesteak egg rolls! These goodies are exactly what they sound like — thinly sliced steak with onions…

I’ve been on a health kick. Trying not to overeat and trying to make healthier choices. But foooooood is so yum, it’s hard. BuI found these baked southwest egg rolls and thought they’d be super tasty! With some salsa and fresh guacamole on the side, they make for a nice fresh dinner or a perfect appetizer! I didn’t have black beans, so I just used pinto beans instead. I imagine it’d be fine either way, just use whatever you prefer or have on hand! If you’re planning to use the egg rolls as appetizers, I would try making them in…

I’ve been cooking up a storm lately, so we’ve been eating leftovers out the wahzoo. They’re delicious, but they impede my cooking because I don’t want to waste food! So I made pot pie filling the other day for an easy Monday dinner before I go to volleyball. But I was ravenous when I got home, so I had to make an appetizer/side. These “pizza rolls” were perfect! So easy to make and so yummy! T approved. The ones pictured here are made with mozzarella and cheddar cheese! But you can use whatever kind of cheese you like, e.g., pepperjack…
