Tri-colored quinoa mixed with chopped broccoli in a cheesy cheddar casserole, perfect as a weeknight side dish! – – Broccoli cheddar quinoa is one of my go-to side dishes! I typically have all ingredients on hand on a given day, so when I have nothing else planned as a side dish, it’s perfect and easy to whip up! Broccoli is a pretty good staple in my home, since it’s one off my favorite vegetables–don’t get me wrong, I’ll still take twix cookies (recipe) over vegetables any day. But when coupled with the quinoa, it’s actually a pretty decently healthy side-dish! Plus, cheese…

Here’s another one of our go-to game day snacks! I don’t know about you all, but if I can stuff jalapeno popper filling into pretty much anything, I find a way to make it happen! Like this jalapeno popper stuffed bread or jalapeno cheddar stuffed burgers. Because everything is better stuffed with cheese and a hint of spicy. It’s funny to me, because about a year ago, I wouldn’t touch the stuff. I was not a fan of spice on any level, probably because I was just a big big wuss. I’m still a wuss on most people’s scales I’ll bet, but I’m…

Tyler got these Cinnamon Bun Oreos at the grocery the other day. I was super skeptical at first, because I’m not usually a huge fan on cinnamon-flavored things. Wellllllll…collectively, we finished the entire package in two and a half days, I think. I actually enjoy these a lot. They’re not overpoweringly cinnamon, just a pleasant cinnamon cracker, and the icing just fits perfectly for the concept. So we bought another package…okay two. One to eat, and one for me to bake with! The oreos were just so good, I wanted to use them in something, and what better than a…

In case any of you all have been around my blog since last new year’s–apparently I like “bars”. Last year was a mimosa bar, and this year we went for a waffle bar! We dressed up and went fancy last year, so we just turned the table and went pajama party this year. Fancy is fun, but pajamas mean I can fall into bed and not worry about getting changed or falling over in heels or flashing someone when I want to sit on the floor. So, like all bars, your imagination is the only limitation! And it’s customizable to your…

Here’s another great simple party dip, peeeeerfect for a brunch potluck! Good thing we had one for New Year’s Eve! Really super simple, and quite tasty! The amped up touch to this dip, in my opinion, was the fresh bagel chips I made. Now of course you can do regular chips or store-bought bagel chips, but then I’ve seen less options of varieties of bagel chips at the store than you can get at your local bagel shop! Plus we have an amazing bagel shop less than 10 minutes away. Because the dip is cream cheese based (as one would…

Buttery soft caramels wrapped in chocolate! Literally, what more could you want out of life? I actually won’t be sharing my caramel recipe today–it’s a long recipe that comes out only for special occasions! Plus you need some specialized equipment, namely a candy thermometer. But fear not! If you’re looking to make these at home, then kraft caramels split into two the long way work perfectly! Or you can always try one of those microwave caramels I pin to my Recipes – Candy board on Pinterest (link to my pinterest). I won’t link any directly here, because I haven’t tried them, and…

I pretty much only make “candies” for holidays. Typically they take a lot of work, and specialized equipment. I’ve slowly been building up my arsenal, and I actually just broke out these silicone molds for the first time! I got them from the annual secret santa last year with my high school friends. I forgot I had them until I was going through the pantry, and so obviously I had to find some yummies to try out! Plus I had Trader Joe’s dulche de leche (affiliate link) from the dulche de leche cheesecake I shared with you, and I wanted to use it another way.…

Orange orange orange! This was one of the first recipes that made me think I could make “fancy” truffles, and by that I mean coated truffles as opposed to the more homemade style that’s a firm ganache rolled in cocoa powder or powdered sugar. It’s the zest that really makes these orange-y! And they look adorable with some candied orange peel as garnish. If you’re in a pinch and don’t have another orange to zest, or used the rest of your peel to make those candied orange peels, then you can zest the boiled rind. It’s just a little harder…

Have you ever had candied orange peels? They’re chewy and oh so orange-y, and perfect little strips to snack on when you want to be bad. I feel that they’re an indulgence best nibbled on. I’m never going to shove a handful of candied orange peels in my mouth the way I do chocolate! But chocolate is the reason I’m sharing this recipe with you. I’m making a variety of truffles this year, and one of the flavors is orange! So I thought this would be perfect as a garnish, and also a festive snack for the holiday time. You can…

Let’s kick off chocolate truffle season! I have big plans for this season, because I have some tried and true truffles and I want to try out some new recipes! Plus I have various molds, so I’m actually looking to make assortments for Christmas gifts. My current plan is for a sampler that includes: matcha green tea white chocolate, dulche de leche cups, orange dark chocolate, and raspberry dark chocolate. Other contenders include: peanut butter, eggnog, red wine, cake batter, and mocha truffles. I want a good variety, but I also want to make things I’ll eat, so we’ll see what I end up with.…
