So I’ve been planner geeking out with a couple of my coworkers recently helping a friend set up her new planner, and I have to say, it’s making me think more consciously about my planner than I have in a while. After my initial set-up, and I might call it slight obsession over my planner, it’s fallen a bit by the wayside. And by that I mean in the most successful way possible. If the planner itself recedes into the background and I’m more focused on tasks and productivity, then I’m succeeding, right? So here’s some of the pros and…

This past weekend was packed full of fun! We finally made our way to the Baltimore Aquarium which has been on the bucket list for almost 3 years now. We originally had plans to grab dinner with friends, but they had something come up last minute, so we instead we called up our friends Karen and Tyler and did something else we’ve been chatting about forever–go to Heavy Seas Brewery for a tour! Mostly they walk you around, tell you about the hopps, the vats, the way they grind the grains, allow it to ferment, carbonate it and bottle it.…

Orchid Cellars is actually a meadery and winery! In the interest of not having a bajillion categories, I file this under winery with Ciderworks, even though they’re a little less traditionally “winery”. They’re both perfect stops to make on the Antietam wine trail to add a little something different to your outing! This little baby here (actually not so little anymore) is actually one of the first reasons we ventured up to the Antietam Wine Trail at all. A friend grew up in the area and frequented Orchid Cellars with his mom, and he used to bring back all varying…

So the other day was decreed “Tyler Day”! Or “& guest day”, as you can see above. He’s been really great recently helping out extra with the pup and supporting me when I have to work late or run around and I wanted to appreciate him in a full and lazy day! It was a pretty cold and rainy day, and so we decided to take the crazy pup to the dog park early and get it out of the way. There weren’t many people there, but he was suuuuuuuper into fetch and tuckered himself out perfectly! Then it was…

Quattro Goomba’s Winery was the second stop on our day out with T’s parents a few weekends ago. The first being Mediterranean Cellars-tune in next friday for my review of it! T and I had visited Quattro Goomba’s another time earlier, for DC SIR’s anniversary party. It was a nice winery, made especially nice by all the shiba inus roaming around! But this time it was so hot, I was sweating through my clothes! Quattro Goomba’s actually has both a winery and a brewery, although I have yet to actually try the brewery. As if that wasn’t enough, they even have a restaurant!…

So let me tell you about this past weekend! I know we’re almost at this weekend, but I’m about to travel up to my parents for the weekend, and last weekend was a ton of fun! T’s parents came to visit, which is always a good time. We really packed this weekend full of fun stuff, so I think I’ll be writing about this one particular weekend for a while! We started off Friday with a trip to Artie’s, a restaurant that has been here for over 20 years, actually since his parents used to live in the area. They were…

It’s funny that sometimes I look at my own posts, and I realize that my favorites–either recipes, or reviews–don’t have posts yet. It makes sense in the grand scheme of things since I only started less than a year ago, but it’s funny to me that some of T’s and my’s favorite places don’t have dedicated posts. On the one hand they’re fun and local, but on the other we go there often enough that I feel like I shouldn’t take pictures every single time. So today, you get a post about a local hangout of ours–Mad Fox Brewery! It’s…

Note: Permanently closed, as of October 16, 2016 So this Sunday I finally got to try brunch at what I lovingly have dubbed “el fuegos” since Fuego Cocina y Tequileria is a bit of a mouthful. Especially after two margaritas and the tipsy has kicked in. And you might be scoffing at me–hah, two margaritas!–but let me tell you, their frozen margaritas (henceforth margs) typically have three shots of tequila in them and couple that with the salt and the amazing taste, and you’ve got yourself a tipsy brunch. We started off with a round of apps: queso fondido, guacamole,…

So this is my first review post, and you might be wondering why I’m taking my food blog down this route. The short answer is that I love some of the restaurants in the VA/DC area, and I simply wanted to record some of those places for my own personal easy reference when a friend comes in town or if I feel like T and I have been stuck in a rut restaurant-wise. If I continue to do this in the future, I will definitely need to take more photos though! The longer answer is that I was somewhat inspired…
