If you’re planning a Harry Potter party, look no further! These are my favorite festive Harry Potter party recipes, sure to please. From cocktails to mocktails to must-have chocolate frogs, any or all of these recipes will make your party a hoot (from Hedwig!).

If you’re looking for a physical cookbook to browse through, check out this unofficial Harry Potter cookbook. It’s great for savory and sweet options for your Harry Potter party, everything from Meat Pies to Pumpkin Pasties.

1. liquid luck potion;

First on the list of Harry Potter party recipes is Felix Felicis, also known as liquid luck. Harry brews this potion in the Half-Blood Prince, but you can brew it yourself right at home!

You can make this kid-friendly as a mocktail, or spike your drink to make the adults feel lucky too! I love this potion recipe, it’s so simple, and watching the golden sparkles swirl around is really satisfying. For an extra fun spin, grab a couple of potion bottles to serve up this liquid luck cider cocktail.

2. jellied chocolate frogs;

Chocolate frogs are a classic must-have at any Harry Potter party! These jellied chocolate frogs have an extra fun twist. Make these frogs with four different center fillings, one each for each of the Hogwarts Houses. I give you multiple flavors for each color, so there’s tons of options.

Once you coat the jelly centers with chocolate, they all look the same! Don’t worry though, you can use this to your advantage! A perfect and tasty way to sort your guests into their houses. Once they’ve chosen their frogs, use their houses to form teams for games at your party!

Keep track of House Points and offer up a prize at the night’s end for the guests that win the House Cup! My recommendation is to brew up one of the potions on this list of Harry Potter party recipes and stopper it into a cute little potion bottle for guests to take hom.

3. phoenix breath potion;

You can make the second fun cocktail on this list of Harry Potter party recipes as a cocktail or a mocktail. This ombre potion is so, so pretty to look at. A simple gradient of red to clear, all you need is some grenadine, but it tastes even better if you add Chambord raspberry liqueur (for the adults).

If you decide to get potion bottles for serving, I recommend getting a different shape than what you use for the liquid luck cocktail. Having a variety of potion bottles makes your table spread look super cute and plays up the Harry Potter theme.

4. butterbeer cookies;

It’s not a Harry Potter party without butterbeer! A foamy, creamy drink that frequents every single book, I distill down the butterscotch flavor into cookie form in these butterbeer cookies. And of course, I had to add chocolate chips, because this is Best with Chocolate.

They have chewy centers but crisp edges, and the butterscotch flavor isn’t just in the cookies themselves, but reinforced with butterscotch chocolate chips as well.

5. cornish pasties;

Of course, we need a savory option on this list of Harry Potter party recipes, and for that, I turn to GoodFoodStories and these Harry Potter cornish pasties. Stuffed full of beef and onion, these fried hand pies are so flaky and tasty. Finger food is always best for parties if you ask me, so having a hearty option I can eat with my hands is perfect for any Harry Potter party.

6. frog spawn kiwi mojito;

Don’t worry, no frogs are harmed in the making of this frog-spawn kiwi mojito! Instead, we use kiwi popping boba in a glass of muddled mint mojito for this super fun drink. You want to keep the liquid mostly clear so you can get a great look at the “frog spawn”.

You’re also not limited to kiwi popping boba. You often can find green apple as another green flavor, but you don’t even have to stay on the green theme. Use whatever color and flavor combos you like, or even set up a bar and let your guests mix their own spawn creations!
