garlic peri-peri wings;
Guys. Guys. Hold up. Guess what’s a totally legitimate meal on Whole30! Well, considering you clicked, I’m gonna say you figured it out–crispy baked wings! Crank up the temperature in your oven and get them nice and crisp. This is one of those meals that gets me through the week. The best part is, as long as your seasoning is whole30 compliant, you have so many varieties at your disposal! Or even if you’re not on whole30, these wings are a Must Eat!
When I say “crank up the heat” though, I mean it. You want it super hot, and I will say I don’t think there’s been a time when I haven’t set off the smoke alarm (although we’re convinced ours is triggered by heat). Not that anything explicitly burns, but it’s just such a high temperature that the parchment paper can get charred, or sometimes the drippings can end up a little smokey. Just make sure you’re paying attention to the oven and you’ll be fine. Please don’t light your house on fire!
Also ovens may vary. At our previous apartment 475 made the most perfect crispy wings. In our new house, I had to crank that baby up to 525 but it made perfectly crisp, delicious wings.
Please note, if you ever had any doubt that Tyler and I were humans and not vampires, this recipe should dispel it. We LOVE garlic and with this recipe it’s doused with garlic powder, topped with extra garlic butter at the end, and then topped with Nando’s garlic sauce for a 3x garlic kick. Who would’ve thought their sauce was whole30 compliant? It does have a few additives, but still, so worth it for this delicious recipe.
