Ingredients

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate*
  • cup cream may not be required, depending on the brand and consistency of the melted semi-sweet chocolate
  • 5 Tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ¼ cup dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1 cup + 1 Tbsp. flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 10 oz peanut butter chips

Instructions

  • Melt semi-sweet chocolate in the microwave or on in a double boiler. The texture should be thick but pourable. Depending on the brand of chocolate you may need to add cream to the desired consistency.
  • In a bowl, beat the butter for 1 minute, then add the sugars and beat until combined. Add in the eggs and vanilla and mix together.
  • Add the melted chocolate in a steady stream and beat until combined.
  • Add remaining dry ingredients on slow speed. Do not overmix.
  • Fold in peanut butter chips, reserving some for topping after baked.
  • Scoop approx. 2 Tbsp. of dough per cookie and lay on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Press down slightly on each ball.
  • Bake 10 minutes and press extra chips into the top as removed from the oven. Centers will be soft, but will firm up as they set.
