Halloween cocktail in a potion bottle, with a red layer at the bottom topped with clear liquid

phoenix breath cocktail;

A cocktail as beautiful as it is delicious. With grenadine and chambord, this cherry and raspberry cocktail fades into a clear lemon-lime soda.

Equipment

  • A wooden or metal skewer, spoon, or instrument to achieve the layered effect.

Ingredients

Cocktail

  • ½ oz grenadine
  • 1 ½ oz raspberry liquor (I use Chambord)
  • 5 oz lemon-lime soda (I use Sprite)

Mocktail

  • Omit the raspberry liquor from cocktail recipe

Instructions

  • Pour ½ oz of grenadine into the potion bottle or glass for serving.
  • Pour 1½ oz raspberry liquor into the potion bottle or glass for serving. If you want to keep them separate use the same technique as the next step, however I usually just let them mix.
  • Optional: I recommend pouring your lemon-lime soda into a glass, or measuring cup.
  • Using a wooden or metal skewer (or a spoon if you have an opening wide enough to use), angle the instrument diagonally, so the tip is touching the side of your glass or bottle. Gently and slowly pour the lemon-lime soda down the instrument so it gently flows and sits on top of the red layer.
  • Make sure not to stir or shake and serve cold.
